PREFACE In today’s modern world most of the people find it difficult to time towards their health & well being. Since childhood children also face problems related to health, stress of examination, stress of preforming upto the expectations of parents, teachers etc. The National Curriculum Framework (NCF 2005) adopted a holistic definition of Health in which Yoga was an integral part. According to NCF 2005 there is growing realization that health needs of adolescenst particularly growing up issues require to be addressed which is culturally sensitive area. There is a need to provide children with authentic & accurate information & help them to construct knowledge and acquire life skills so that they cope with the process of growing up & counter the stress & strain of examinations and can concentrate in their area of potential & academic achievement. This manual is an effort to guide the teachers about how Yoga helps to build up a child’s personality & holistic health by practicing Yoga. Yoga focuses three areas, that is Health-Physical need, Knowledge-Psychological need, Inner peace-Spritual need. Yoga can be adopted by people of all ages & all walks of life.Yoga-a way of life.
