"So, now that they're painted... What will we do with them?" Valerie seemed to have an answer for that as well. "It's all rather simple. We're going to secure the five original coins at Mission Park Headquarters. As for the duplicates, I see no reason why each of us can't just hold on to one. I mean, if we weren't going to use them, why did we bother looking for them? The rest of the coins can be stored at Mission Park Headquarters along with the original five. Apple jumped in. She wanted to be absolutely clear about everything Valerie had told them. "So, we've got five original coins, that when held together, duplicate the coins. The duplicates are like the original coins, but without the ability to duplicate... Which is confusing enough... But in total, there are six coins. The five slightly different originals, and the sixth, which consists of one-thousand duplicates?" Valerie nodded. "That's right." All of it was enough to give everyone in Team Mission Park a headache. It would be simple enough to store the five magic coins, along with the one-thousand duplicate copies, but the whole thing seemed like trouble. "We shouldn't have gone looking for the coins. It was a mistake." Tessa had to agree with Chris. Maintaining a secure facility for the coins was going to be trouble. No matter how securely they were stored, eventually something will happen. Chris had enough. He was ready to go, and he'd be taking all of the coins back to headquarters with him. There was no way he'd be trusting anyone else with that task.

MISSION PARK PULP: THE SIX MAGIC COINS – PART V - BY CHIP PERRO By the time Timothy had collected all of the duplicate coins, cleaned them, and stacked them in neat piles on the table, nearly two hours had passed. "So, we've got the five original coins, plus one-thousand duplicate coins that don't replicate." Timothy was very proud of himself for counting everything, but nobody else seemed to care. Valerie had more to tell. When the rest of Team Mission Park was gathered, she began. "While Timothy was working, I took the liberty of painting each of the original five coins a different color, so we can see them." Tessa immediately jumped in with a question. "Wait, how did you touch them without vomiting up coins like Timothy?" Valerie smiled. "Isn't it obvious? I told everyone earlier that the coins are like puzzle pieces. To make new coins, a person needs to put them all together by holding them at the same time. Timothy did that when he thrust his hand in the box like a moron. As for me, I handled them all individually." It made sense to Chris. He also rather enjoyed watching Timothy pay for his mistake.

With that, he started scooping them all into a pillow case, making sure to keep the box with the original five coins separate. Tessa was quick to try and stop Chris. "Where are you going?" "Back to base. I'll see you all when you get there." In a flash, Chris was gone, leaving the rest of the team to figure out their own way back to Boston. It was very annoying. Tessa sighed. "I hate it when he does that! TO BE CONCLUDED NEXT MONTH

rest of eternity arguing with Simon about how stupid it was. He could live with that. "Okay, we'll try it. But when we re-form on the other side, stay back. I need to take this guy out fast, before he has time to teleport somewhere else. And I can assure you, I won't be following him again!" Simon agreed to everything, and instantly, they were in an electrical state. Moving at fantastic speeds, Chris was able to see a clear fissure where the Replicator teleported away. Zapping inside, Chris and Simon once again found them between space and time. As they moved forward, they caught up to the Replicator, but remained in their electrical state to stay hidden. Every once in a while, the Replicator looked back, towards Chris and Simon, but the flashes of lighting blended too well with the sides of the vortex. Finally, the portal opened, and Chris, Simon and the Replicator emerged in normal time and space. Apparently, The Replicator had returned to his apartment, which was unimpressive. When Chris and Simon materialized, the Replicator had already begun removing his advanced teleportation device. Completely caught off guard, it was easy for Chris to subdue him. All it took was a strong punch to the face. No powers needed! By the time the police arrived, the Replicator was tied up and ready for processing. "It's been fun working with you, Simon. You're far more competent than the rest of Team Mission Park." Simon didn't know what to say. He was completely surprised.

CHRIS EMBER PULP: HARVEST TIME – PART VI - BY CHIP PERRO After an extremely unsettling night, Chris Ember was determined to bring the Replicator to justice. But how was he going to find the evil genius? Chris had barely escaped the vortex between time and space with Simon Butler. And now, standing on the corner of Quincy street, The Replicator was nowhere to be found. "I have an idea!" Chris wasn't sure he was ready for another one of Simon's plans. While his strategy for escape worked, it was a long shot. Chris didn't think he had enough luck for another long shot. "I think the Replicator entered another vortex the second he arrived here. Just in case you were able to escape, he wanted to make sure you wouldn't find him." "You're not suggesting we try to follow him in another vortex in an electrical state again, are you? We barely managed to escape the first time!" "Yeah, but that's because he saw us. All we have to do is stay in an electrical state, and we'll be able to exit with the Replicator. Then, when we're back in the real world, we re-form, and take him by surprise." Chris had to admit, it was a pretty good idea. Stupid, but still a good idea. He was willing to give it a try. And worst case scenario, he spends the

again. That was not something Tessa was going to let happen. "Okay, Apple, I'm just going to tell it to you straight. Last night, when I was told about the pleasure pill, I thought it was absolute garbage. Something that society elite was talking about for a thrill..." Apple had to agree. "But I told them I'd look into it, and I did. That night, I pressed the right source at the right club. I was undercover. And he sold me three pleasure pills." Apple couldn't believe what she was hearing. The pleasure pill was real, and Tessa didn't tell her. "Naturally, I brought it back to the Faux Compound and ran some tests in my lab. It's a highly complex formula." Apple had heard enough. "So, tonight, while we were out, you knew all along that the pill was real and you didn't tell me?" "I had good reason, Apple." "And what would that be? I'm your partner, Tessa. You tell me everything!" "You're my sidekick, not my partner... But I should have told you, and I didn't." "Why?" "Because after I tried analyzing the pill, I still didn't know how it worked. Or what it did..." Apple didn't understand what Tessa was saying. But it all became clear in an instant. "I've been taking the pleasure pill regularly since last night." There was no response. How could there be? Tessa Faux was on drugs. Not only that, she didn't seem too upset about it.

FAUX & ORCHARD PULP: THE PLEASURE PILL – PART III - BY CHIP PERRO Apple was completely surprised. First, Tessa goes on a wild hunt for something called the "pleasure pill" and then she manages to rescue a kidnapped boy, which she apparently knew about all along. But how? How could Tessa have all this advanced knowledge? "Don't worry, kid. We'll get you back to your parents in no time." The small boy, who must have been about six-years-old was fixated on Tessa. Still covered in blood from the kidnappers, she wasn't a pretty sight. Apple took the lead and pick the kid up. "When I was his age, I saw all kinds of terrible things. It freaked me out. You should clean yourself off." Three hours later, Tessa and Apple had dropped the kid off with the police and returned to the Faux Compound. The night wasn't over. Apple needed answers. "You have to tell me how you knew about that kid and why you started a bizarre hunt for the pleasure pill. Tessa wasn't sure how to explain. How could she? So much had already happened. As Apple's mentor, it was important to be completely honest. If she wasn't, Apple may never trust her

Without knowing what to say, Apple asked the most obvious question she could think of. "What does it do?" Tessa smiled. "It lets me see the future, darling. All of it!" TO BE CONTINUED NEXT MONTH

"This is great! So, we have enough to put one of the biggest gang members behind bars! And it's through the death of one of his own people!" "Maybe, but we'll need evidence. It's going to take some time to gather all of it. This is only the beginning, Victor. Victor had to agree. Maybe they had the information they needed, but it wasn't enough. "What are you thinking?" "We're going to have to go dig up the body. And the murder weapon... Luckily, our source told us where. It was going to be a dirty job. But Victor was fine with that. Sometimes being a superhero means knowing getting dirty!

VICTOR STRENGTH PULP: OUT OF BODY – PART V - BY CHIP PERRO If Victor were sitting down, he'd be at the edge of his seat. Valerie had just returned from the beyond and she had news about the case they were investigating. "Everything has been confirmed. Biggs Orange is the man responsible for the death of our dead source." "Confirmation is good, but he was already our primary suspect. Is there any possibility that our source was lying?" "Doubtful. People who are killed generally want to see their murderer get punished. And even though our source was a low-level gang member, his loyalty to the people higher up doesn't extend beyond the grave." "So Biggs Orange killed our source..." Valerie nodded. "That explains the men who paid us a visit. Clearly, they were here to make sure we never got the final details about the murder." "What final details?" Valerie smiled. "Oh, that's right. You don't know. Our source told us where Biggs hid the weapon. Apparently, our source's soul didn't descend into hell until after he got a good look at the follow-up to his brutal death."

enough to weather the shockwave of the blast. “Just get me to the site of the next explosion, Tessa. I’ll be fine.” Twenty minutes later, Timothy found himself standing in front of a cheap motel. It had been vacant for years. “This is it?” Tessa smiled. “This is it! Did you want to get in a quickie before the blast? I’m sure the rooms still have beds!” “We only have three minutes.” “That’s enough time!” Timothy considered the idea for several moments, but decided it would be best to decline. Tessa looked slightly irritated at the rejection and went to stand across the street with Apple. With a minute to spare, Timothy was inside a cheap room with, as Tessa had guessed, a bed. He took the time to shuffle his MP3 player to the appropriate song and instantly, Timothy’s skin turned to gold. Then, without warning, a loud piercing tone filled the room. There was a white light, and then Timothy found himself sucked into a black vortex. It was at this moment that Timothy turned off the MP3 player and tried to control himself as his body flung upwards. Then, with a sharp popping noise, Timothy hit a black wall of darkness, before suddenly appearing back in his sound studio. Lynette was eyeing him strangely. He was on the floor, sweaty and shaky. “Timothy! What on Earth did that song do? For a moment there, you

TIMOTHY NOTE PULP: PROMISE ME – PART VI - BY CHIP PERRO The only person who might have believed Timothy was Tessa Faux. And even that was shaky. But if Tessa was right, and the explosions were happening exactly one mile apart, maybe there was a way for Timothy to get back to the reality he knew. “How much longer until the next explosion?” Tessa thought for several moments. “Twenty-three minutes. If we really haul, we might be able to get there in time. What do you expect to do if we can?” That hadn’t occurred to Timothy. What would he do? When he first entered this reality, he tunneled through some kind of vortex. Maybe every explosion was the result of a vortex opening up in this parallel plane of existence? If that was the case, it might be possible to be in position for the arrival of the vortex, and tunnel back. Timothy looked at Tessa with complete sincerity. “I have to be at the site of the explosion before it happens. That’s my only way back home.” Tessa rolled her eyes. “You’ll be dead before you have the chance.” But she was wrong. Timothy had a very special song that turned his skin into solid gold. It would be dense

looked like you were going to black out.” Timothy smiled, and slowly tried to compose himself. Explaining what happened was going to take some time. “Lynette, I’m so sorry.” Lynette was confused. Timothy could see that. “I’ve taken you for granted. And I shouldn’t have. Let’s get something to eat. And then I’ll tell you all about it! I promise you.” THE END NEXT MONTH: FALLOUT FROM VICTORY - PART 1
