She stood out on the porch of her grandmother’s farm, thinking about the past. She was in a black velvet dress that was about knee-length, it was spaghetti strapped with a Chakram sewed on. Her hair was blowing in the wind, the sky was as clear as her ice blue eyes. A familiar tingle ran down the back of her neck. “Ares, show yourself.” Xena shouted. A shower of blue glitter announced his arrival as he said, “You know me too well.” “That’s for sure,” she said dryly, “What do you want anyway?” “Xena, we need to talk.” “About what?” “About us.” “Ares, the time for us has come & gone.” She lied both to him & herself. He could see how she really felt as he looked into her eyes. “Then why do your eyes say that you still love me?” She knew deep down that he was telling the truth, but she wouldn’t admit it to herself, or anyone else. “Even if I did, why would I go back to you now? Especially after all the pain & misery you caused me.” “I don’t know, but will you forgive me? I love you with all my immortal heart & soul.” “Why should I?” “Xena, why do you have to play these games? I would give eternity for you. I would die so you wouldn’t have to feel any pain!” she turned her back to him & went inside. He sighed, she would never forgive him. She could never see that he was telling the truth, that he had changed. She had no reason to believe him after all he had done to her. He cursed himself a thousand times for that. He hadn’t even been there when she had needed him the most. He walked out to the top of the hill & sat on a stump. When he did that she came out & watched him. He knew she was there so he started to sing, which caught her attention. Singing was not something the god of war did. “Still feels like our first night together Feels like the first kiss, it's gettin' better baby No one can better this... He slip the straps down her shoulders, past her chest, his hands pushed it down passed her stomach & thighs, pulling it off at her feet. His pants & vest disappeared. They made love for hours on end, they finally stopped & tried to sleep but something kept interrupting them.
