ABOUT US Who are Akuma?

Akuma Sports is a family business, based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire and set up by three brothers, Warwick, Daniel and Thomas Aldersley and later joined by their Aunt, Polly Pithers who heads up Operations. The rationale for setting up Akuma Polo was down to a lack of originality in not only design but also the quality of playing shirts produced. Many polo players voiced a disappointment in the team shirts that were available and using sublimation Akuma has now transformed the market entirely. Why use Akuma?

Sublimation

The sublimated ‘On Field’ kit is manufactured in England and Europe as this ensures the very best in quality, durability and control over the design as well as lead times. All of the bespoke On Field Kit is produced by the art of Sublimation Printing. It is the process of changing the ink (print) from the transfer paper directly from a solid into a gas under 5 bar of pressure and at 200®C, which then permeates the fabric. The process is so sharp that any image can be used in the design process. Once transferred to the fabric the panels of the garment are then cut out and sewn together creating a truly bespoke garment. Embroidery

All of our leisurewear can be embroidered with your club crest and further embellishments. During the design process and at signoff, you will be advised which form of embellishment is available and we will help you continue to have bespoke off field kit to compliment your sublimated playing kit.

Vinyl & Digital Prints

Vinyl pressing (as pictured) allows us to further customise garments like t-shirts, hoodies, polo shirts and jogging bottoms to suit your needs, be it tour or just the regular season. Screen Printing

If necessary we can screen print shirts with more complicated designs, we try to keep this for special events and large orders. The reason for this is that large quantities must be screen printed at any one time and it also slows down lead times on kit.

Bespoke design is at the heart of our philosophy. We believe everyone should look good whilst playing in their kit, and we believe that it should be inspired by the wearers own input. With an ever increasing design team we have the ability to complete a brief giving you a host of designs to choose from whilst drawing up new designs based on a custom request you may have. We pride ourselves on our fantastic designs, from classy looking club wear to the incredibly outlandish nature of some of our sevens kits. We've designed almost everything, and yet we come up with brilliant new designs every day. Whether you would like a superhero shirt or a traditional club kit with a modern twist the possibilites are endless. Through our process of sublimating shirts we can make top quality shirts with patterns based upon any images you would like incorporated. Take a look in our galleries on the website for images of shirts we have designed, not all of them have been produced, some are purely conceptual and have been put up to give you an example of what we do! The winter playing shirt is made of a thicker polyester material to increase warmth but continues to wick sweat away from the body. Continuing to use our adavanced sublimation technology while been available in both the semi and traditional fit.

The sublimated umpire shirt is revolutionising the way referees manage the game. Made from the same breathable polyester as our playing shirts the umpire no longer has to settle for second best.

Artwork Requirements: Art supplied via e-mail is welcome; Artwork should be supplied as an editable 'eps' file or Adobe Illustrator file, in vector format. Alternatively a large scale jpeg at a minimum of 300dpi can also be used if a vector file can not be found. Vector images can be scaled by any amount without looking grainy or pixelated making them easy for us to use on a wide range of different products. Logo’s and Artwork can be redrawn if you are unable to supply a file that we can work with but this will incur a production cost. Most artwork, logos or designs requiring modification can be completed in 1 - 2 hours, however, some complex multi colour designs may need to be re-drawn and take much longer.
