Immediate Supervisor: Associate Dean of Students Position Summary: Serves as an integral part of the Residential Life team and provides comprehensive oversight of three residence halls housing approximately 450 students. Serves as an educator and resource to challenge and support student growth and development. This is a full-time, 12-month live-in position with on-call responsibilities. Responsibilities:  Oversight of three residence halls housing approximately 450 students in first-year and upper-class halls.  Select, train, supervise, and evaluate 12-15 undergraduate Resident Assistants.  Develop and facilitate an ongoing in-service program for Resident Assistants.  Responsibility for residential system operations including coordination of building maintenance, quarterly opening and closing of the buildings, assistance with housing assignment processes, maintenance of the Residential Life web-based team site, and other administrative tasks.  Oversee educational, social and community building efforts and manage area programming budget.  Organize and maintain the Residential Life programming resource room.  Maintain accessibility and visibility in the residence halls by attendance at evening programs, frequent walkthroughs and regular contact with students and staff.  Work with students to successfully live with roommates and within the residence hall communities.  Respond to a wide variety of personal concerns and crises and make appropriate referrals. The Area Coordinators (in conjunction with other professional Residential Life staff members) alternate responsibility for on-call coverage of the campus and responding to calls from the Resident Assistants.  Serve as a conduct hearing officer and work to educate students about their choices.  Collaborate with maintenance and custodial staffs to respond to maintenance concerns and facilities emergencies.  Develop and implement creative programming in the residence halls and campus wide. Collaborate with other departments within Student Development and across campus.  Mentor and nurture student leadership within the College and Residential Life.  Maintain 35 office hours per week.  Assume responsibility for summer employee residence hall and/or summer camps and conferences, and a variety other Residential Life summer projects and initiatives.  Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:  Masters degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration or related field from an accredited institution.  Experience in Residential Life.  Demonstrated commitment to students and the ability to work on a highly student focused campus.  Knowledgeable about and sensitive to issues of student development, community, diversity and inclusion.  Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.  Ability to do crisis intervention and to work well in stressful and emotional situations.  Committed to professional growth and development.  Willingness and ability to live on campus, work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and on-call hours. Must be on campus for staff training, opening and closing of the residential system and major College events.  Must be able to travel between various buildings on a residential campus.  Highly energetic, positive, creative and possessing a good sense of humor and fun.
