Preparing for the CRRN Exam: You Can Do It! Taught by a multi-disciplinary team of presenters March 5-7, 2014

This course is designed for the nurse preparing for the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse examination or nurses new to the field of rehabilitation nursing. Topics included in the 2 ½ day course are: challenges associated with community re-entry, legal and ethical issues pertinent to rehabilitation nursing and the nursing care required by individuals with a variety of disabilities. Course Purpose The participant will be able to use the knowledge gained to prepare for the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Exam. Course Objectives 1. Describe how the current healthcare environment influences the practice of rehabilitation nursing. 2. Identify nursing interventions that can be incorporated into your rehabilitation nursing practice. 3. Describe nursing responses to common psychosocial and physiologic manifestations of various disabilities. Certification Exam Information The exam is offered annually in June and December. The registration deadline for the June CRRN exam is April 15, 2014.

We strongly recommend that participants complete the Computerized Assessment Tests (CAT) available on the ARN website prior to attending the class.  Each test covers a separate area of rehabilitation nursing with multiple choice questions, similar to those on the CRRN exam.  Membership in ARN is not required to use these self assessment tests.  This self assessment can help you identify which topics to focus on as you study for the exam.
