This is the highest charting Broadway cast recording in over two years. The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots is produced by Cyndi Lauper, Stephen Oremus, William Wittman and Sammy James, Jr. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots began performances on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45 th Street), and opened on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Kinky Boots has been nominated for thirteen 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, making it the most Tony-nominated show of the season. Already, the Outer Critics Circle and Drama League have named it Best Musical, and it won the Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical, among many other accolades.
