Fall Classes August-December 2017

Heartstrings Plus

Quilting Classes

What a cute beginner quilt! The pattern is great--as far as it goes. Mary has used the leftovers from the heart blocks to piece an interesting back and save on yardage, too! Take this class for technique pointers and indulge your creative and frugal spirit as well. Level: Beginner Instructor: Mary Honas Cost: $60 Monday, October 9, 16, 23 - 10:00am-Noon - Session 401

Gridlock Gridlock will have you thinking off the grid. Make the sample table runner or quilt using a reverse theory of fabric placement—prints are the sashing rather than the blocks. Create a modern feel as in the gray quilt or a more traditional project with the table runner with optional additional patchwork. Each will push you to listen to your fabrics as you move your thinking off the grid. Your confidence and sewing skills will move up the chart at the same time! Level: Beginner Instructor: Cynthia Schrader Cost: $40 Sunday, October 1 & 15 - 1:00-3:00pm - Session 402

♦ Gifts from Friends Let's visit a sweet four point star tessellated quilt from the past. Jelly roll or scrap friendly, easy to size up or down, great made in flannel or batiks as well traditional quilting fabrics. The best news is the quilt will shine whenever or however it is used despite a simple construction process. Level: Beginner Instructor: Cynthia Schrader Cost: $40 Tuesday, November 28 & December 12 - 6:00-8:00pm - Session 403

Inspiration Cynthia was inspired by the shop's Row by Row pattern to adapt it into a larger project. Scrappy or just purchased fabrics will be constructed into a variety of traditional blocks where fabric choices ramp up excitement. The final setting is improvisational! A great use for the fabrics you love or not (but may already own) to challenge color &/or style combinations. Build confidence in your color and design skills. Simple block drafting is included. Everyone will leave more confident of their patchwork skills and possibly have swapped fabrics with a classmate. Level: Beginner Instructor: Cynthia Schrader Cost: $60 Tuesday, September 12, 26, October 10 - 6:00-8:00pm - Session 404
