Affiliate Marketing Notice

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is required by law to give you this privacy notice to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal information. LMCU pledges to provide you with competitive products and services that meet your financial needs and to help you reach your financial goals, which necessitates that we share your information with our affiliated third party financial service providers, who provide financial, insurance and leasing services.

Lake Michigan Credit Union is providing this notice to its customers. Federal law gives you the right to limit some but not all marketing from our affiliates. Federal law also requires us to give you this notice to tell you about your choice to limit marketing from our affiliates.

In order to assist you in meeting your financial needs and goals we have entered into agreements with other companies that provide either services to us or additional financial products for you to consider. Under these arrangements, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as described below, to other companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information we provide. We do not permit these companies to sell your information to third parties.

As of the date of this notification, our affiliates include Lake Michigan Auto Center, Lake Michigan Financial Group, Inc., Lake Michigan Insurance Agency, Lake Michigan Investment Services, Lake Michigan Leasing and The Perk. Opting Out of Direct Marketing Offers from Our Affiliates Lake Michigan Credit Union is known for its exceptional member service. Using member information responsibly helps us maintain this service. However, you may limit our affiliates from marketing their products or services to you based on your personal information that we collect and share with them. This information includes, but is not limited to, your income, your account history with us, and your credit score.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND DISCLOSE ABOUT YOU We collect the following non-public personal information about you from a variety of sources and may disclose all the information we collect to our affiliated companies.

Your choice will apply to your joint account holders on the effective date of your opt out.

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER MEMBERS If you terminate your membership with LMCU, we will not share any information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS PROTECTED We restrict access to your personal information to only those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to safeguard your non-public personal information.
