PROBLEMATIKA KESALAHAN PENULISAN SURAT MENYURAT DINAS DESA YANG DILAKUKAN PARA PELAKSANA ADMINISTRASI DI DESA-DESA TERTINGGAL Author : Moch. Jalal-1 Abstract : This research purposes to acknowledge problems concerned with mistakes in formal correspondence at desa (village) level in underdeveloped villages in the area of Bojonegoro, through observing the forms of mistakes, factors causing the mistakes, and the solution, effective and probable to be done as preventive act. In the research, a study upon the files of formal letters in the last year in each village is conducted. If mistakes are found, in-depth interview to the administrators will be forwarded. If such mistakes are not found, the village will not then become the respondent. Thus, there are two factors in each village to be the objects of the research: those who write the letters and the files of the letters in the last year. Next, data are collected until they are saturated i.e. there are no more new mistakes found, and finally there are 20 underdeveloped villages to be researched in Kabupaten Bojonegoro. The research shows that the level of miswriting in terms of applying the correct and good Indonesian in these villages is still high. In certain quality or quantity, there is none of the administrator who does not make any mistake in formal correspondence. Generally, such condition is caused by the low Indonesian proficiency of the administrators and less supportive situations which indeed trigger the level of mistakes. Three things that local government is recommended to do in order to solve the problems are improving the material quality in provisioning the secretary of the village, exercising periodically a mechanism to control these problems, and attempting a uniform upon each kind of letters.
