THEVEGANROADSHOW I have been a vegan for five years now, but on-and-off since childhood. I am a huge foodie and was a chef years ago. I’ve realized that I have turned many people into vegans in the past couple of years through making the vegan lifestyle look, healthy, fun, stylish and easy. Many people turn off when they see the depictions of animal cruelty; but when they see great meals, wonderful places to buy vegan shoes and clothes, etc., they get interested in the lifestyle. So I figured, however I can help to get people to become more aware and healthy, then the better! I think people are interested in becoming vegan, but really have no idea how to go about it. Last year, my ex husband Toby Lindala (four-time Emmy nominated makeup effects designer) and I went on a motorcycle trip through seven states and over 5,000 miles. It was amazing! We went to every kind of vegan restaurant that we could find: fine dining, casual, diner style, bakeries and food trucks. We also found all kinds of amazing places to buy vegan clothing, shoes and goods. It was an incredible journey, and the inspiration for this show. — Ani Kyd

THEVEGANROADSHOW SYNOPSIS The idea for the show THE VEGAN ROADSHOW: 2 motorcycles; 2 friends (one vegan, one not); 13 cities in 13 episodes. I want to do this journey again; but this time taking my good friend, fellow motorcyclist and co-host Jim Hoehnle with me. Jim is a full-on meat eater. He is interested in the vegan lifestyle but doesn’t know much about it, so the trip would also be an education for Jim, and teaching the viewers along the way; showing Jim and the viewers how easy it is, and how fun the lifestyle can be. We will be visiting awesome vegan spots all across the U.S. (food carts, clothing, fine dining and casual diners, and having an amazing trip along the way. I want to make the show fun and exciting, and staying away from the hippy activist side of veganism. I think the approach would be to show how exciting, fun, stylish, high-end and easy the vegan lifestyle can be—putting a positive spin on being a vegan and staying away from the negative. Also, showing that all kinds of people are vegan, that the food is easy to make, and that there are great restaurants to dine in all over the U.S. I would like each episode to have me in each city, give a brief run-down on the city and its history, find a couple of cool vegan stores or food trucks, etc., maybe meet a vegan celebrity—a well-known business person, politician or positive public figure who lives in that city—then have them guide us to their favorite places and restaurants. We would try exciting new vegan dishes, and each episode we would have one of the chefs take us through an easy vegan recipe. Then off to the next town! — Ani Kyd CLICK HERE for promo video link — password : anikydvegan
