“Dream Factory” Ramoji Films City Installs Harrison Digital MPC2 Film Mixing Console Nashville, TN, October 23, 2002 - International film production studios Ramoji Film City (RFC) is in the final stage of installation of the 160 channel Harrison MPC2 digital film console they ordered earlier this year. The large film mixing console, a hallmark of Harrison, is going into the audio post-production facilities, thematically named "Symphony" at RFC. The control surface spans over 3.4 meters (11 feet) and is equipped with 48 Input faders, 16 remote faders, two graphic EQ panels, two of Harrison's patented motorized dual joystick control system, two complete shared facilities sections, two automation panels and digital meters. The digital.engine™, the audio processing component of the Harrison digital console, features 160 fully resourced channels with 320 inputs. The system employs 40-bit processing which operates without allocating valuable processing resources. Signal inputs consist of 168 AES and analog signals, all of which are available to the 896 x 1120 digital router and monitored using the 80 x 16 monitor/summing matrix. The entire console system will be powered by IKIS, a PCI-based, multi-operator automation system developed specifically for the rigors of film and post-production mixing. IKIS represents dramatic advancements in speed and power available to film mixing automation. Just a few of the features available with the IKIS system include: Unrivaled bussing capacity, in-place automation, a full array of channel and function libraries to establish and recall console setups, customizable filing structure, software plug-in's for individual feature upgrade and enhancement, a myriad of console options, off-the-shelf computer technology, enhanced joystick and trackball functionality, invisible autosave function. Ramoji Film City is a comprehensve film studio complex arrayed over 200 acres of land. Other services available include backlots, extensive props and set creation, hi-tech special effects. Production facilities include world class editing suits, state-of-the-art sound & dubbing theatres, with extensive equipment available. The grounds contains luxury hotels and is quickly becoming on par with Universal Studios as a tourist destination with packages to accommodate all range of guests. Ramoji markets to an international customer base and so far RFC has attracted business from Tollywood, Bollywood AND Hollywood. RFC has become very popular with overseas filmmakers and producers who are perhaps drawn by increases in local production costs.
