More than 86 entries from 18 countries have been whittled down to the finalist designs of 8 hopeful design-newcomers ready to compete in this year’s REMIX International Fur Design Competition 2012 final. Pasta, Gelati, Fashion, Glamour – Milan has it all! To enter the competition with the right Gusto, day one is free for the contestants to immerse themselves into Italian life and explore Milan: indulging in Italian ice cream, visit the famous Duomo di Milano, grabbing a cappuccino with some chocolate cake, maxing out your credit card at Gucci or Prada...

To end day 1 in style, our finalists are invited to join the glamorous Mifur Gala Dinner, a prime highlight of Milan’s International Fur and Leather Exhibition.

Those lucky enough to get hold of a ticket are treated with an exquisite 3 course dinner and get an exclusive glimpse at next year’s fur fashion trends when fashion designers send their models up and down the Catwalk in Mifur’s annual Runway Show.

Day 2

Heart-throb: furry hearts

Exhibitors from around the globe wow crowds with stunning fur and leather fashion. However, every piece exhibited comes with a history of handcraft, design and trade efforts.

We take our 8 designers on a Behind-the-Scenes tour to reveal secrets revolving around fur and leather craftsmanship and discover some extraordinary pieces, ranging from fur teddy bears and fur-covered flower pots to fur umbrellas... Italian designer Assunta discovers fine fur handcraft

Backstage moments

Only a few hours to go until the REMIX Runway Shows kick off... Tension is cranking up as our contestants dress their models and make some last minute design changes and finally prepare their speeches to win over the jury.

7:30 pm: doors open and crowds are flooding in - REMIX 2012 is on! Lights down, music up and go: all entry garments from 18 countries hit the Catwalk. The highlight: our finalists on the Runway to accompany their models – and to reveal to the audience the designer behind each finalist garment.
