The Rusty Barn Promotion Group, Inc. welcomes you to the Sacramento Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival at Cal Expo. At our show you will find a wide variety of Sewing, Quilting, Needle-art and Craft supply exhibits from many quality local and national companies. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in one or more of the many “Make and Take” Workshops or FREE educational Seminars. Your ticket is good all three days of the show — so please take your time and don’t miss any of the exciting new products, techniques or educational ideas. Rusty Barn Promotion Group, Inc. The following rules are established for everyone’s comfort and safety. We hope these guidelines will help make this event as enjoyable as possible. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH - Please do not touch the displays. If you would like help with a display, please ask the exhibitor for assistance. CHILDREN - Children must be supervised at all times by an adult. We do not recommend small children participate in the workshops.

FOOD-DRINKS-SMOKING - There will be no food or drinks permitted on the show floor, except in the concession areas. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building.

EXHIBITOR SEMINAR DESCRIPTIONS: APPLYING IRON ON DESIGNS MADE EASY & WARDROBE ENHANCEMENT Janet Taylor (booth #713) Learn how Iron-on applications can be done and see how easy designs can be applied with a regular iron. I give a complete demonstration, take questions on applying designs as well as give information on creating and personalizing designs. Not only will you see the ease of enhancing your wardrobe, but also on saving your favorite garment with a stain or taking a simple T-shirt and changing the neckline, making it the perfect scoop neck. Attendees receive a free design, and there will be a drawing for free merchandise. Classroom # 2, 12:00 noon BECOME THE SMARTEST QUILTER IN YOUR GUILD BY GUIDELINES4QUILTING John Brady (booth #709) Anyone can follow a pattern where all the seam allowance math and when and where to use Half vs. Quarter Square Triangles is already done for you. But if you’re one of those quilters who still asks questions like: • Why is Seam Allowance Math so complicated today? • What do I need to know to resize a pattern? • What’s the difference between half and Quarter Square Triangles and how do you decide which to use?

Classroom #1, 1:00 pm FRENCH KNITTING Gail Bird (booth #711) Yes… French Knitting…an old technique…but a new and easier to use tool! Make jewelry using all sorts of fibers and beads! Classroom #1, 11:00 am LOCKER HOOKING! Gail Bird (booth #711) A great recyclable, portable, and functional technique that is fast and easy. Gail will demonstrate the process and have a great trunk show. Join in for the laughs and a wealth of information. Classroom #1, 12:00 noon MORE FROM "LESS THAN TRADITIONAL" (CLASS TWO) Raylene Salazar (booth #113) This technique done "Charlie's Way" is addicting with no limit to the possibilities. A few examples of the large quilts are Wedding Bands, Blooming Desert, and Razzle Dazzle. The latest as seen in the July-August issues of Quiltmaker and Quilters' Newsletter - Gumdrops and Lollipops. Classroom #2, 1:00 pm QUILTING CHARLIE’S WAY (CLASS ONE) Raylene Salazar (booth #113) Come and learn the Basic Technique for making everything from small pincushions to large bedspreads and quilts plus everything in between! Unlimited possibilities. See how you can achieve the look of old traditional patterns the “Less than Traditional” way. Make circles, quilt as you go and never any binding necessary. Quicker and easier than ever before. Haven’t tried it yet or just want a little review, now is your chance! No experience necessary, all skill levels! Fun for everyone! Classroom #2, 11:00 am X BLOCK TOOL & PATTERNS Sandy Scott (booth #404) This is a great tool to use on all your scraps of fabric or new yardage. All the fabric you cut and sew you use in the quilt. There is NO waste. Simple 9 patch blocks or strip sets are the basic sewing skills you will need. This tool is great for the new quilter. Several patterns and two books are available.
