CIVIL ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION

PRESS RELEASE IMMED. 26/08/2011

CECA Launch New 2011 Schedules of Dayworks The Civil Engineering Contractors Association has announced it will publish a new, fully-updated edition of the CECA Schedules of Dayworks Carried Out Incidental to Contract Work on Wednesday 31 August. The CECA Schedules of Dayworks are used by contractors and clients right across the industry, as a means of accounting for costs which occur incidental to the contract work under the conditions of contract. The 2011 edition will be fully updated to take account of fluctuations in operating costs, as well as the costs of financing, maintenance and consumables, since the previous 2007 edition and its amendment in 2008. It will also include a particular focus on the plant schedule, while maintaining the other schedules for labour, materials and supplementary charges. The new CECA Schedules of Dayworks will be published on Wednesday 31 August 2011. They can be ordered in advance of this date at a cost of £15 per copy for CECA members and £25 for non-members by sending prepayment in the form of a cheque made payable to ‘CECA’ to CECA, 1 Birdcage Walk, London, SW1H 9JJ. These orders will be dispatched on or after Wednesday 31 August. It will be available to order online soon. - ENDS For more information, further comment or interviews please contact Calum Benson on 020 7340 0452 or [email protected] Notes to Editors 1.

The Civil Engineering Contractors Association represents over 300 contractors of all sizes, covering approximately 80% of the civil engineering market in Great Britain. Our members build infrastructure that provides the basis for economic sustainability and quality of life in communities across the country. 2. The CECA Dayworks Schedules are used in contract works for civil engineering and occasionally other types of work to determine the cost of carrying out work on a labour, plant and materials basis when there is no other method of calculating the cost of work in the conditions of contract under which the work is being carried out. The CECA Schedules of Dayworks Carried Out Incidental to Contract Work are those referred to in the Infrastructure Conditions of Contract. Often they are incorporated in other forms of contract where there is no other schedule of costs available. The document itself consists of four Schedules: Labour, Plant, Materials and Supplementary Charges.
