SCHOOL-BASED DECISION MAKING Stephen Foster Traditional Academy Student Uniforms and Appearance (Dress Code)(#34)

Policy Statement: All students at Foster wear uniforms daily. Foster sweat shirts or Foster T-shirts may now be worn any day of the week. If a student is not wearing a Foster T-shirt or sweatshirt, he/she must be wearing the uniform as outlined in this policy. We have a seasonal uniform that is detailed below with dates for the 2014-15 school year.

SPRING/SUMMER (AUGUST 13-OCTOBER 31): The Foster Traditional Academy SPRING/SUMMER Uniform will consist of: WHITE S HIRT AND KHAKI BOTTOMS (S WEATER VES T AND TIE ARE NOT REQUIRED, BUT MAY BE WORN).

FALL/WINTER (NOVEMBER 1-APRIL 5): The Foster Traditional Academy FALL/WINTER Uniform will consist of: NAVY S WEATER VES T, TIE, WHITE S HIRT AND KHAKI BOTTOMS (S WEATER VES T AND TIE REQUIRED).

SWEATER VEST - Navy blue vest can have Foster Crest or can be plain. Vests do not have to be worn after Spring Break through October 31st. TIE - Navy Blue tie must be worn by ALL Foster students unless the student is wearing a Foster T-Shirt or sweatshirt, then no tie is necessary. Ties do not have to be worn after Spring Break through October 31st. PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRTS/JUMPERS/SKORTS – Must be solid, plain, and without decoration. COLORS ALLOWED: UNIFORM KHAKI ONLY Shorts may be worn from Spring Break through October 31 st. All shorts, skirts, jumpers & skorts length must be at or below knee length. SHIRTS COLORS ALLOWED: WHITE ONLY STYLE OF SHIRT: 1. Polo Style with collar OR 2. Button Down (Oxford style) shirt with collar. Foster Spirit shirts and/or Foster sweatshirts may be worn any day. Shirts should be tucked in at all times. BELTS Belts are not required, but no sagging will be allowed. SHOES Shoes must have a closed toe and heel. Any color shoe is permissible. No light up shoes allowed. Heels over 1” not allowed. MISCELLANEOUS No make-up, tattoos or other body markings. No rolling backpacks, NO EARRINGS for boys, No earrings over 1 inch for girls, no acrylic nails, no sunglasses or hats are to be worn in the school building.
