Pam is a Christian humorist, singer, and storyteller who enjoys entertaining senior adult and ladies groups in upstate churches. She has spoken at the South Carolina Ministry Association Conference, Office Professional Leadership Conference, and the Rock Springs Woman’s Conference. She has been presenter at the South Carolina Middle School Conference, and South Carolina International Reading Association Conference. She got her start in teaching at Anderson District One after graduation from Clemson. Pam was twice selected as Teacher of the Year, received the Foothill’s Council Distinguished Reading Teacher award, and was named Who’s Who among American teachers. President’s Comments

December Anniversaries

I am pleased to serve as your president for 2014 along with Esterine Hargrove as Vice-President/Program Chairman, Linda Reider as Secretary, Bill Williams as Treasurer, 92 more volunteers, and the kitchen and set-up staff to make our experience enjoyable. The officers met late December to evaluate XYZ, and we recommend the following policies: 1. Meal cost will be raised to $6.00 at the February meeting. 2. The membership list will be revised in January. Members who did not attend in 2012 will be removed from the call list. 3. Members who do not return the phone call from their caller for 6 months will be considered inactive and will be removed. 4. Members who do not make a meal reservation are encouraged not to serve a plate until it is announced that there is food left. 5. Members who make a meal reservation and do not attend are encouraged to pay at the next meeting, if they did not cancel by Thursday before the meeting. 6. XYZ is a senior fellowship and will not permit people to join just to go on trips. 7. The Travel Table will be open at 9:30 am to accommodate choir members who practice at 10 am. 8. Go to the serving table when your table number is called; only get one meat and one dessert; be careful not to throw your silverware in the trash.

Our apologies to those whose December anniversaries were inadvertently left off last month.

XYZ Missions

January Anniversaries

First, we want to thank you for all the wonderful toys that were brought for the Salvation Army Toy drive in December. Many little children had smiles on their faces on Christmas morning because of you. Now that the Holidays are behind us, we can start thinking of new Mission Projects for 2014. We will again make little dresses for the Nicaragua mission trip this year. For this effort, you can start bringing colorful cotton material to the February meeting. More details to follow later. Thanks from your Mission Committee.
