EXECUTIVE SUMMARY It gives me great pleasure to invite your company to join with other community minded corporate sponsors and become a partner and category naming rights sponsor of the 2014 Regional Achievement and Community Awards. The aims and objectives of the Awards are to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contribution individuals, group, communities and businesses are making throughout regional and rural Victoria. The Awards, entering their 13th year, is Victoria’s most prestigious regional Awards Program. Our marketing and promotional campaign utilises all areas of the media, direct mail, local government and corporate and community participation. Therefore as a category naming rights sponsor, you can be assured of receiving extensive positive recognition throughout regional Victoria.

CATEGORY OPTIONS Below are a variety of available category options you may wish to consider naming rights of:

As a category naming rights sponsor you have the option to create your own category and category description and criteria to help shape the nominations received in your category.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards recognise, encourage and reward regional Victoria’s most vital resource – its people! Each year the Awards seek out and promote the incredible achievements of individuals, businesses, organisations and community groups and create a sense state pride, unity and inspiration through their example as mentors and role models to the wider community. The main objectives of the Awards are to:     

Develop a sense of state pride in being a regional Victorian Develop unity across all cultural backgrounds throughout regional Victoria Provide role models and mentors by acknowledging and highlighting achievements and contributions to the community Encourage local community participation through highlighting positive stories and role models Develop government, corporate and community involvement working together for the greater good

The public and media support of the Awards will provide many positive opportunities for category naming right sponsors to be aligned with a wide range of community and individual activities. Our promotional campaign enables us to reach nearly all regional Victorians. Nominations are sought annually between April and July from regional Victorian residents across all ages from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT The Awards will be heavily promoted through businesses, peer support groups, associations and networks throughout regional Victoria. Nominations will be sought through organisations involved with community activity, government, health groups, service clubs, volunteer organisations, art and sport associations, businesses, groups, institutions, cultural groups and many more. As a category naming rights sponsor within the Regional Achievement and Community Awards, your company will receive significant promotion and recognition throughout the Awards promotional campaign. Information about the call for nominations and program updates are sent to all elected Ministers, Members of Parliament, Councils and Mayors, government departments, authorities, associations and community organisations during the call for nominations period. Additionally, all elected members are encouraged to issue press releases seeking nominations and distribute nomination forms and posters in their communities. Representatives from all areas of government are invited to attend the Awards presentation dinner in October.

OPERATIONS AND EVENTS

MEDIA LAUNCH The Regional Achievement and Community Awards will launch in April 2014. The focus of the launch will be a public call for nominations and to promote local media support throughout regional Victoria. Your company will receive exposure through launch publicity.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS CAMPAIGN A three month call for nominations campaign will commence immediately after the official launch in April 2014. The Weekly Times has committed to publish a nomination advertisement weekly where possible along with regular editorials and digital media promotion. Your company will feature in all ads. PRIME7 has committed a significant ‘call for nominations’ campaign of 30 second ads to seek nominations across regional Victoria. The ads will commence immediately after the launch and run until the close of nominations. Your company will feature in the TV ads. GENERAL PROMOTION The Awards office will undertake extensive promotional activities which include direct mail and e-flyer campaigns involving business groups, assocations, community groups, targeted groups for each category open for nominations, educational institutues, government departments, local council and sponsor branches. You will be encouraged to display posters and nomination forms in your offices and branches throughout regional Victoria if applicable. Displays will also take place in Bank of Melbourne branches and local council and MP offices. Your company will receive extensive exposure throughout the marketing campaign and will be encouraged to develop your own promotional leverage campaign.

JUDGING OF NOMINATIONS In September, a judging panel will meet to select three finalists for each Award. The winner of each award will then be selected from the three finalists. The judging panel will consist of a representative from:  The Weekly Times  PRIME7  Bank of Melbourne  Each category naming rights sponsor  Supporting sponsors involved in the program  Community and expert leaders in the category associated fields All nominations are reviewed through our online system hosted on our website.

GALA AWARDS PRESENTATION DINNER The Regional Achievement and Community Award recipients will be announced at an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner in October 2014. The event will acknowledge the three finalists for each category and the category winners will be announced by the category naming sponsor. The Awards Gala Presentation Dinner will be attended by politicians, media, community and business leaders along with sponsors, finalists, nominees’ and their family and friends. It will be a memorable occasion with more than 300 guests attending from across the state and will include speeches, audio visuals, fabulous entertainment and a three course dinner. Category sponsor branded on screen profiles are produced for each of the finalists and will be aired at the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner. The Weekly Times will promote the Awards with coverage about the finalists in the lead up to the Awards Presentation Dinner and afterwards with winners editorials. PRIME7 will produce a ‘congratulations to winners’ ad’ which will be aired after the Awards Presentation Dinner for four plus weeks. Your company will feature in the TV ad. The Awards Gala Presentation Dinner will promote the sponsorship contribution and commitment of your company and the other category naming right sponsors and profile the community contribution made by our outstanding regional Victorians. The essence of the promotion is to encourage, recognise and promote regional Victoria’s most vital assets – its people – and instil a united sense of pride in our communities.

PRIZES The winners of the Awards will be presented with a magnificent trophy and either $2,000 from the Bank of Melbourne or a television package comprising of 20 x 30 second airtime commercials on PRIME7. All nominees, semi-finalists, finalists and winners will receive a letter of congratulations and a certificate of achievement for their nomination. In addition to the Finalists, all nominees and semi-finalists to attend the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner will be personally presented with their certificate on stage.

WEBSITE The Awards website will feature your company. The website offers a fully interactive service, providing comprehensive up to date information about the Awards. The website explains the eligibility criteria with instructions on how to nominate, key dates and the process of nominations. The nomination application is a simple online process. You and other award sponsors websites will be linked to the Regional Achievement and Community Awards website. Your company will feature as a category naming rights sponsor of the Awards.

Your company will be featured continually throughout the campaign. The public relations campaign will cover all mass media; in particular through our media sponsors, The Weekly Times and PRIME7 plus supporting newspapers, journals and radio stations across regional Victoria. Media releases cover all stages of the Awards campaign as follows:  Launch of Awards  The call for nominations campaign (media release send every three weeks)  Each nomination received (media release sent to their local area)  Announcement of semi-finalists  Announcement of finalists – lead up to presentation  Announcement of winners A comprehensive media file of more than 120 press clippings for the 2013 Awards is available to view on request.

PROGRAM EXPOSURE The Regional Achievement and Community Awards will have a broad reach and exposure to all communities throughout regional Victoria. PRINTED LITERATURE AND DIRECT MAIL The Regional Achievement and Community Awards are promoted through direct mail and emails. As a category naming rights sponsor of the program, your company will feature prominently on all printed literature. The following items will be produced in support of the Awards:  Launch invitations  Nomination information brochures  Posters  E-flyers  Category banners  Award presentation dinner invitations  Award presentation dinner acceptance cards  Award presentation dinner place cards  Certificate of Achievement  Award presentation dinner program  General stationary including letterhead, envelopes etc. Artwork for all items will be supplied by the Awards office for approval to you before production. MEDIA SUPPORT TELEVISION PRIME7 has committed to a ‘call for nominations’ campaign of 30 second ads to seek nominations across regional Victoria. The ads will commence immediately after the launch and run for approximately three months until the close of nominations. Your company will feature in the ad. A profile of each of the finalists will be produced for the Awards Presentation Dinner and shown on screen by PRIME7. Your company will feature in the profiles for your finalists which you have category naming rights of. Your company will feature in the 30 second ‘congratulations to winners’ ad produced and aired by PRIME7 for approximately four weeks after the Awards Presentation Dinner.

PRESS The Weekly Times has committed significant support for the Awards through their weekly paper and digital media. As part of this commitment The Weekly Times will run call for nominations advertisements every week. Your company will feature in these advertisements. Additionally regular editorials featuring nominees and other interesting stories associated with the Awards program will be run during this stage. All other newspapers will also receive the opportunity to promote the Awards through media releases and filler ads highlighting their local involvement through stories on nominees from their area and the various stages of the Awards. As a category naming rights sponsor your company will feature in the ads and editorials where possible. You will receive extensive press exposure throughout the marketing campaign.

RADIO A community service announcement will be produced and made available for each supporting radio station throughout regional Victoria allowing a three second tag, acknowledging their local involvement. Radio interviews will also be sought to promote the call for nominations.

SOCIAL MEDIA A significant paid and unpaid Facebook campaign will be undertaken this year. Twitter and Linkedin will also be regular avenues for promotion. Page 11

PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL It is with great pleasure that we invite your company to become a category naming rights sponsor of the 2014 Regional Achievement and Community Awards.

The cost for category naming rights sponsorship for 2014 is $15,950 plus GST Your category will be promoted and recognised at all times as:

Company Name (category selected) Award Your sponsorship contribution will go towards promoting your category and facilitating a high quality Awards program directly targeting high achievers and community contributors throughout regional Victoria whilst increasing state pride. At the conclusion of the 2014 program, you will be given first rights to continue the sponsorship agreement in 2015. Sponsorship payment options are available with one payment or two equal instalments in this or next financial year (or split). SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS Your company will receive the following benefits in return for your category naming rights sponsorship within the Regional Achievement and Community Awards: 1. Significant television promotional ads will be screened on PRIME7 from the Launch in April until the close of nominations in July 2014. Your company will feature in all ads. 2. Your company will receive quality exposure in the calling for nominations advertisements and editorials featured regularly in The Weekly Times and in other supporting newspapers, magazines and newsletters throughout regional Victoria from the commencement of the program in April 2014 until July 2014. 3. The Awards Coordinator will work with your representatives to maximise exposure for your company throughout regional Victoria. 4. Your company will feature in the launch of the Awards. 5. Your company will be featured in 6,000 e-flyers distributed to leading businesses, community organisations, service clubs, media outlets, schools, universities, libraries, councils, Members of Parliament. 6. Your company will be featured in 5,000 nomination information brochures which are distributed to other businesses, community organisations, service clubs, media outlets, schools, universities, libraries, councils, Members of Parliament, and sponsor outlets throughout regional Victoria.

7. Your company will be featured in 1,500 colour posters which will be displayed and available throughout business houses, media outlets, schools, universities, libraries, councils, Members of Parliament and sponsor outlets. 8. 1,000 invitations featuring you will be distributed to leading business houses, media and categoryrelated organisations promoting the launches and the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner. Additionally 500 acceptance cards, place cards and printed Programs for the Presentation Dinner are produced, again featuring your involvement. 9. 300 certificates featuring your logo will be printed and presented, personally where possible, to all nominees of the Program and including finalists and winners. 10. Your company will receive an End-of-Program Report summarising all promotional and media activity for each stage of the Program (including copies of media clippings and a DVD copy of the ads featured on PRIME7). 11. Your company will be mentioned in media releases and media interviews where possible. 12. You will be invited to have a senior representative on the Judging Panel where the three finalists for your category and the winner are selected. 13. Your senior executive will be invited to make a speech and present your three category finalists and announce your winner at the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner. 14. Ten Complimentary tickets will be available for your company’s representatives to attend the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner. 15. A quality silk banner featuring your logo will be produced and strategically displayed at the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner. 16. Your company will feature in the 30 second congratulations ad produced by PRIME7 to promote the winners of each Award to run for four weeks after the Awards Presentation.
