ABSTRACT Sulphides, sulphates, and total sulphur analyses of drill cuttings in addition to mineral saturation state calculations were used to get insight into the transport and precipitation of sulphur and associated metals in the Reykjanes geothermal system, Iceland. Reservoir temperatures range from 275 to 310°C and the estimated pH from ~4.5 to ~5.0 with uncertainties up to 0.5 pH units. Sulphur enrichment was measured in the altered rocks compared to concentrations in unaltered basalt. Sulphide concentrations in drill cuttings range from
