Help your students become Super Crew Stars! What makes a reimbursable meal: 1. Student MUST take a fruit or a vegetable (red or green star) 2. Student MUST choose 3 different components (3 different color stars) Must offer 5 components (stars): 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

1. Schools must offer the daily minimum of 1oz. 2. Maximum of 9 oz. per week for grades K-5 3. Maximum of 10 oz. per week for grades 6-8 Eg. 1 8’’ whole-grain tortilla =1 grain component

Meat / Meat Alternates

1. Must offer minimum of 1 oz. per day 2. Maximum of 10 oz. per week 3. Cheese, egg, beans, tofu, nut butters, yogurt and soy yogurt in the right amounts can count as a meat alternate

Milk

1. Offer 8 oz. of milk 2. Must offer at least two choices: • Fat-free (unflavored or flavored) • Low-fat (unflavored only) • Fat-free or low-fat (lactose-reduced or lactose-free)
