ABSTRACT The massive flood that hit Kelantan in 2014 has caused severe damage to its rural community; physically, economically and socially. Thus, the quality of life after the flood has massively distorted and the victims have since been trying to pick up the pieces and move on. Ideally, the quality of life should be equal after the flood as it was before the flood. However, the destructive impact of the flood has made it impossible to regain exactly the same quality of life. In order to help the community back on its feet, the loss must be empirically analysed and its socio economic well-being must be evaluated. This information, ironically, is not available for more effective relief plan. The aids that have been handed out by many organizations may be effective in a short term but once the supply runs out they would be in need again. A comprehensive plan to recover the whole community from the disaster must be laid out as a long term aid to help them regain a normal quality of life. This recovery plan would also help the local authority as well as the government agencies to execute their disaster recovery plan effectively. This article discusses a framework that has been developed for sustainable post-disaster recovery plan through income generating activities to ensure their socio economic well-being is improved. Keywords: economic recovery plan, socio economic well-being, flood victims, income generating activities
