WORLD RELIGIONS (ALL) (NC) A100 Michelle Curnutte, MA Christian Education Clash of Cultures: Why We Just Don't Understand Some of our Neighbors AND How to Break Down the Barriers Have you ever wondered why you and people from some other cultures just don't seem to be on the same page? Why can't they just fit more into America? Learn the language? Fit into our culture more? Or why can't they understand that we're trying to be friendly? It's not that both of you aren't trying to be understanding but, well.... you just don't get each other. We will spend some time covering differences between Western and Eastern culture, stereotypes, and absolute versus relative thinking. We will try to understand why there seems to be such a cultural gap, whether in our own town of Sugar Land or across the world while traveling, and also discuss how to connect with and share Christ with someone from a non-Western culture.
