NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT HOME DEPARTMENT Amendments to the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service [G.O. Ms. No. 60, Home (Police VI), 20th January 2010, ¬î 7, F¼õœÀõ˜ ݇´-2041.] No.SRO B-6/2010.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 8 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu District Police Act, 1859 (Central Act XXIV of 1859) and Sections 9 and 11 of the Chennai City Police Act, 1888 (Tamil Nadu Act III of 1888) read with the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and all other powers hereinto enabling, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service (Section 31 in Volume III of the Tamil Nadu Services Manual, 1986).

AMENDMENTS In the said Rules, in Annexure-II, under “Class-I”, in column-3,— (1) against Category 2 and Category 2A in column (1), in item 1, for sub-items (i) and (ii), following sub-items shall be substituted, namely:— “(i) In respect of male candidates, the height shall not be less than 170 centimeters. Provided that in the case of SC/ST candidates, the height shall not be less than 167 centimeters. (ii) In respect of female candidates, the height shall not be less than 159 centimeters. Provided that in the case of SC/ST candidates, the height shall not be less than 157 centimeters.”; (2) against Category 5 in column (1), in item 1, for sub-items (i) and (ii), following sub-items shall be substituted, namely:— “(i) In respect of male candidates, the height shall not be less than 170 centimeters. Provided that in the case of SC/ST candidates, the height shall not be less than 167 centimeters. (ii) In respect of female candidates, the height shall not be less than 159 centimeters. Provided that in the case of SC/ST candidates, the height shall not be less than 157 centimeters.”; and (3) against Category 8 in column (1), in item 1,(a) in item (i), for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:“(a) the height shall not be less than 170 centimeters. Provided that in the case of SC/ST candidates, the height shall not be less than 167 centimeters”; and (b) in item (ii), for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:“(a) the height shall not be less than 159 centimeters. The amendment hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on the 19th May 2008.

AMENDMENTS In the said Rules, in Annexure - II, under “Class-I”, in column (3), against “Category-2 Sub-Inspectors” and “Category-2A Sub-Inspectors of Police (Finger Print) (Men and Women)” in column (1), in item 3, for the second proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:—

“Provided further that in respect of Category 2 Sub-Inspectors of Police, the written test and the distribution of marks shall be as follows:— Open Quota (i)
