Textbook: Calculus: 9th edition by Varberg, Purcell, Rigdon. Bring your textboox when you attend the class. Objectives It governs what you will study in the course and what questions will be asked on the Departmental midterm and final exams Course Plan and Homework Tentative schedule of the lectures and the homework assignments. Homework is collected twice a week and partially be graded . Homework is due at the beginning of class on the day it is due. Late homework is NOT accepted. It
is very important that you keep up to date with the homework. Doing homework can help you understand what we discuss in the class. The homework assignments are the minimum amount of problems for you to practice. Please keep in your mind that the best way to learn mathematics is to work out lots of problems. Please feel free to talk to me or TA whenever you have questions or are unsure of your answers. Attendance: Students are expected to attend at least 75% of the classes to pass this course. To get the full attendance credit you need to attend class regularly. Attendance sheets will be passed in class to sign up. Course Grading: Course grades will be based on homework (30%), Quizzes and exams (60%), and class-attendance (10%). A tentative grading scale is as follows: A over 90%; B over 80%; C over 70%; D over 60%; F below 60%.
