PRESENTATION OF MA, MPHIL, PHD THESES FOR EXAMINATION Front matter In the front matter, pages are numbered in small Roman numerals (do not number the title page). Arabic numbers, commencing at ‘1’, are used for the body of a document. The front matter contains the following in the order shown: Title page Information on the title page is centred, e.g., TITLE Author’s name

Preface and optional separate Acknowledgements, including any parts of the thesis that have been published. Table of Contents Formatting Theses are presented on A4 paper, 1.5 or double-spaced, printed on one side. Left margin of 3.00 cm. Each chapter commences on a new page. Binding Theses should be presented in temporary binding for examination. Two copies for MA, three for MPhil, four for PhD.
