Tipton, Iowa September 16, 2013 On Monday, September 16, 2013 at 7:56 p.m., the school board of the Tipton Community School District held its organizational meeting in the high school media center. The meeting was called to order by Secretary Jim Becker. The roll was called and a quorum was found to be present as follows: Nolan Ford - present Brad Goetz - present Diane Wallick - present Duane Webb – present Ray Vitense - present Motion by Ford, seconded by Wallick, that the September 16, 2013 organizational meeting agenda be approved. Motion carried unanimously. The oath of office was administered to Directors Vitense and Wallick. Director Ford nominated Duane Webb for President of the Board of Directors. Motion by Ford, seconded by Goetz, that nominations cease and a unanimous ballot be cast for Duane Webb for President of the Board of Directors. Motion carried unanimously. Director Ford nominated Diane Wallick for vice-president of the board of directors. Motion by Ford, seconded by Vitense, that nominations cease and a unanimous ballot be cast for Diane Wallick for vice-president of the Board of Directors. Motion carried unanimously. Committees for 2013-14 were appointed as follows: Negotiations Legislative Cedar County Conference Board Wellness School Improvement Advisory Committee Facilities Tipton School Foundation Board

Motion by Goetz, seconded by Wallick, to appoint the building principals as level 1 investigators and the Tipton Chief of Police as the level 2 investigator of complaints of student abuse by school employees. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Wallick, seconded by Ford, to appoint Michele Gipson as signature designee for the Board President on the activity, agency and nutrition funds. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Ford, seconded by Vitense, to hire Idalia Reichert – part-time food service, Darla Doty – part-time food service, Kim Gavin – assistant varsity track coach, Cindy Darling – special ed associate, Karlyn Piatt – special ed associate, Jodi Byrd – special ed associate, Erick Tucker – special ed associate, and Cassie Petersen – substitute bus driver and to approve Jurgen Ehlers – volunteer volleyball coach. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Goetz, seconded by Vitense, to approve the contract changes due to changes in educational level for Jayne Erickson to BA15, Jennifer Keltner to BA15, Jill Reeve to BA15, and Eric Walsh to BA30. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Goetz, seconded by Wallick, to approve the 2013-14 fundraisers. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Ford, seconded by Vitense, to approve the 2012-2013 Annual Progress Report. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Ford, seconded by Goetz, to cast a vote for Pam Jacobs for AEA 10 Director District 2 Board of Directors. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Goetz, seconded by Wallick, to approve the open enrollment requests of Aubrey Carlson, Morgan Carlson, and Nikki Carlson from North Cedar and Nathaniel Odum from Iowa City. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Wallick, seconded by Vitense, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. The next regular meeting of the board of directors will be held Monday October 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school media center.
