InGoodTaste Scottsdale galleries launch ArtWalk’s Taste of Wine This year’s Western ArtWalk in Scottsdale will feature wine tastings with Rex Goliath Wines as part of a new activity, ArtWalk’s “Taste of Wine.” The fundraising event, sponsored in part by Arizona Collector’s Guide, is slated for Thurs., Nov. 8 from 7 to 9 pm in six participating galleries. ArtWalkers can purchase a souvenir ArtWalk wine glass that benefits two great nonprofits, the Scottsdale Gallery Association and the Scottsdale Artists’ School, in their ongoing efforts to further public art and art education. Tastes will then be given throughout the evening to bearers of the souvenir ArtWalk glass at participating galleries in the Arts District, a different varietal of Rex Goliath wine at each of those galleries. Following ArtWalk at 9pm, wine tasters are invited to The Brathaus nearby, where additional samples will be served and a mural unveiling will add to the merriment. The evening’s tasters will be guided by a “Taste of Wine” passport that is provided to them with each donation. Details and souvenir wine glasses can be found at the northwest corner of Main Street and Marshall Way. FreshPaint “Quick Draw” featured at Scottsdale Fall for the Arts Scottsdale galleries are planning a “paint out” for Saturday, Nov. 10 as their part in Scottsdale’s multi-event “Fall for the Arts,” which is running Nov. 8-10. In the style of an old-fashioned shootout, Main Street will be closed for its 10am “Quick Draw” with 30 artists using paints & brushes instead of guns & bullets. Artists will paint or sculpt intensely for two hours and then watch as their original works get auctioned off at High Noon – while the paint’s still wet! – right smack dab in the center of Main Street in Downtown Scottsdale, between Scottsdale Road and Marshall Way. Simultaneously, 30 major art shows are planned in nearby galleries and there will be live music along the ArtWalk

RockPoetry101 “At night the stars put on a show for free. And darling you can share it all with me. I keep telling you… Right smack dab in the middle of town I found a paradise that’s trouble proof. And if this world starts getting you down, there’s room enough for two up on the roof.” – by Gerry Goffin & Carole King, first made into a hit by The Drifters, but everyone should hear the way Laura Nyro did it backed by Patti Labelle and the Bluebells.
