AutoCAD Electrical Who should attend? Users new to AutoCAD Electrical Course Objectives After completing this course you will be able to:  Navigate the AutoCAD Electrical user interface  Understand AutoCAD Electrical projects  Build an intelligent ladder diagram  Manage a multi-drawing project drawing set  Create your own libraries and icon menus  Extract reports  Create intelligent panel layouts

Course Outline

2 Days

Extending AutoCAD  Work directly with AutoCAD blocks and attributes  Schematic drafting tools  Extract basic reports  Wire numbers  Templates and circuits Working with Projects  How drawings are related in a project  Project drawing sets  Project-wide tagging  Project-wide reports and plotting Programmable Logic Controller  Build a PLC I/O module  How to graphically add PLC I/O interfaces to your product on the fly  Build modules that have different styles and looks  How to override the default wire numbering  Automatically generate I/O schematics with your project spreadsheet or database

Symbols, catalogues and libraries  Component symbols and naming conventions  Customise the icon menu system  Add your own library sets  Assign a catalogue part number to a component  Extract a BOM report Schematic Reports  Use the information in your schematics to create a variety of reports  Export a report to a spreadsheet or database  Generate multiple reports at once  Update a schematic from a spreadsheet  Re-sequence and retag an entire project to create a new one Panel Layouts  Use a project set of wiring diagrams to create a panel layout  Create bi-directional updates between schematics and panel layouts  Create panel symbols  Use the balloon utility to add labels to your panel layout  Define a wire sequence on a wire network  Manage and edit terminal for an entire project

Prerequisites You should have a good understanding of electrical design and how to create technical drawings with AutoCAD.
