INFORMATION The contest will be held on two dates, March 2nd and 5th, 2013. Your coach will let you know the date in which your school will participate. Only 5th and 6th graders can participate in the Regional and National Spelling Bee. Each school must hold an internal tournament between 5th and 6th graders with a list of 200 words provided by your coach. The 5th grade winner will face the 6th grade winner to decide who will represent the school in the Regional Spelling Bee. You will have from the 14th to the 20th of february 2013 to register your winner at www.uno-internacional.com. After this deadline the link will be shut down and you will not be able to register your finalist, therefore you will not be able to participate. No exceptions. The words to spell are common words used in the English vocabulary. Some words are tricky, so prepare your students thoroughly. For the Regional Spelling Bee, a list of 100 words will be added to the previous list that will be sent by your coach as of February 2. The judges will have a "surprise list” of 50 words in case we run out or in case a tie breaker is needed. This surprise list will not be sent to schools. At the National Spelling Bee, a list of 300 new words, previously sent by your coach, will be used. The judges will have a “surprise list ” of 100 words in case we run out or in case a tie breaker is needed. This surprise list will not be sent to the schools.
