Materials: Gauge: 5 sts = 1” BERET With size 6 circular needles, cast on 96 sts and join being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker for beg. Of row. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 6 rows. Chang to size 8 needle. Inc Row: *(K1, inc 1 st in next st) 11 times, K2; rep from * around. (140 sts) Pattern Row: *K1, P6; rep from * around. Repeat pattern row for 5”. Shape Top: Row 1: *K1, P2, P2tog, P2; rep from * around. (120 sts) Rows 2, 3, & 4: Work sts as they appear. Row 5: *K1, P1, P2tog, P2; rep from * around. (100 sts) Rows 6, 7, & 8: Work sts as they appear. Row 9: *K1, P1, P2tog, P1; rep from * around. (80 sts) Rows 10, 11, & 12: Work sts as they appear. Row 13: *K1, P1, P2tog; rep from * around. (60 sts) Rows 14, 15, & 16: Work sts as they appear. Row 17: *K1, P2tog; rep from * around. (40 sts) Rows 18, 19, 20, & 21: Work sts as they appear. Row 22: *K2tog; repeat around. Row 23: Knit.
