Before installing these cams you must refer to the Harley-Davidson® factory service manual for Twin-Cam 88®. Refer to the section covering “camshaft removal & replacement.” The procedure for retracting the sprocket chain tensioners, crankshaft sprocket bolt, and rear camshaft sprocket bolt requires special tools available from your HarleyDavidson dealer. Follow all service manual instructions carefully. Crane Gear-Drive cams are designed to work only with S & S Cycle's Twin-Cam Gear- Drive Set. It is very important that you follow the complete instructions for cam and bearing installation that comes with the S&S gear drive set.
