Charles R. Figley, Ph.D., Editor As we approach the final year of the decade and century, it provides an opportunity to refect on how far we have come in our understanding of the role of trauma in human development. Just this year, the Green Cross Projects, three years after its birth, became a membership organization and elected their first governing board. Their Third Annual Training Conference will be held in Tampa the first weekend in June, just before the Governor's Hurricane Conference. Speaking of milestones, this year is the tenth anniversary volume for the Journal of Traumatic Stress. In the year 2000 it will be the 20th anniversary of the publication of the DSM III and the birth of the concept of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). That same year will mark the 15th anniversary of the birth of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Together, these important events have great promoted the development of the field of Traumatology. The Editorial Board of the Journal is pleased to present the final issue of Volume IV. As the final article notes, this issue illustrates the importance of a multidisciplinary field of study. Just as the Board represents a broad spectrum of scholarly and professional fields of study and practice and various theories, methodologies, and practice guidelines, we welcome such a spectrum in the articles published here. As we complete our fourth volume, the Editorial Board and I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to all of the excellent work of some key people. Without them, it would not be possible to continue to offer the e-journal. First of all, appreciation goes to our authors. Here is a list of their names and articles:

Articles: Psychological Debriefing – An Effective Method? By Atle Dyregrov PhD Trauma of Children In a Residential Wilderness Treatment Program By Bonnie C. Bedics, D.S.W. Paula T. Rappe, L.C.S.W., M.S.W. Frank Anthony Sansone, Ph.D., M.S.W. Victim Characteristics and Attributions of Blame in Male Rape By Timothy K. Daugherty and Jody A. Esper Psychological Debriefing, Troubled Children, and Homophobia: Toward a Multidisciplinary, Multidimensional Field of Traumatology By Charles R. Figley, Ph.D. Several of these articles would not be possible without the excellent efforts of following Action Editors: Gerald French, Les Posen, W. Jake Jacobs, and Beth Stamm. However, it required considerable time to carefully review each submission (may of which were rejected for publication). Therefore we express special thanks to Les Posen, Matthew Freidman, Gerald French, Beth Stamm, Robert Yourell, Lori Beth Bisby, Gary Flint, Bruce H. Young, Michael McGee, Kathy Gilbert, Nancy Simpson, Pat Hughes, David Baldwin, Don Catherall, C.B. Scrignar, Roger Callahan, Wayne Hooke, Nathan Denny, Fred Gallo, Anne Detrich, and Sam Bernard. A special appreciation goes to the staff. Kim Baker joined the FSU Traumatology and Green Cross Projects in August and provided support to the Journal. However, Eric Gentry, never sufficiently paid for his efforts, was again the Webmaster for the Journal this year and has done an excellent job.
