Adding Users to New Relic Before you start using New Relic and get obsessed with its capabilities, don’t forget to share the love! One of the things we hear over and over from our customers is that their most successful projects have been when all of their team members have used New Relic – developers, qa, operations, and even managers. With that in mind, we highly encourage you to add your team members to New Relic – so they can get access to the same performance insights as you. To create a new user in New Relic, you must be logged in with an account that has either the Account Owner or Administrator role. If you don’t have this role, ask your Account Owner or an Administrator to create new users for you. If you have the proper role, creating a new user is easy: 1. Login to New Relic: http://rpm.newrelic.com 2. In the top navigation bar, select your account name drop down menu and select “Account Settings”

3. In the user list, click on “Add User”

4. Enter the new user’s email address, full name, role and click “Add this user”

Adding Accounts (Sub-Accounts) If you have a volume account, you can add additional New Relic accounts to your existing subscription, often referred to as sub-accounts. Sub-accounts are an easy way to logically group applications and to manage user access and security within New Relic. For example, you may have customer facing applications that are developed and managed by one team and internally facing applications that are managed by a completely different team. Both teams need New Relic to monitor their applications but should’t be able to see the applications that they don’t manage. Creating sub-accounts within New Relic solves this problem. Here is how to create a new sub-account: 1. Login to New Relic: http://rpm.newrelic.com 2. Click on your subscription in the top navigation bar:

3. Within “Account settings”, click “Volume accounts”:

4. Click “Add account”, enter a new account name, and click “Add this account”:

Sub-accounts are always associated with a master account for billing purposes and each sub-account has a unique license key. Simply install the respective license key in your application instances to have them map to the appropriate sub-account.
