Assistants will check to ensure that all homework is completed and other learning materials (e.g. Flashcards, books, and CD’s) are assigned to the students before leaving the Centre. 7. MARKING DAILY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS: Home-Marking only takes five to ten minutes each day, yet the benefits are long-term. It provides students with immediate feedback on how they are doing. Students can learn from their errors right away and therefore not repeat them in future assignments. Home-marking also helps parents to become aware of their child’s strengths and weaknesses Answer books and marking guidelines are available from the Instructor. 8. ABSENCES, VACATIONS, AND WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PROGRAM: If you’re considering a vacation or absence please fill out a vacation request form (downloadable on our website). Kumon is a long-term program rather than a “quick-fix” solution. There is no question that year-round study brings continuous progress and hard-earned study routines will not be broken. We encourage students to take assigned homework with them during the holidays and seasonal breaks. We are happy to make pre-arrangement for homework pick up by the parents for any anticipated absences. For other unplanned absences due to illness or family circumstances, we kindly ask parents to notify us at your earliest convenience.

Some of the channels include achievement test results, email reports after the completion of each level (usually every 1-4 months, depending on the students progress) parent communication notes; phone, email ([email protected]) or pre-arranged consultations with the Instructor. During class times, we keep our focus on the students’ learning progress so kindly keep any communications as brief as possible, or better yet, contact us during non-centre hours. We also use social media (Twitter and Facebook) to communicate with Parents and Students 12. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Willowbrook Kumon is dedicated to be involved with the community.
